***I had nothing to do with this unsolved act of vandalism.***

A $5.25M two-unit building went up in my neighborhood, less than a mile from a housing shelter. The mansion sat empty for months, but was fully staged and even lit at night — showing, through floor-to-ceiling windows, a beautifully furnished, uninhabited home.

People frequently sleep under the awning of the cafe across the street, where they can see into an unused, luxurious bedroom. 

A plaque was affixed to the side of the mansion, treating the building like a commentary on New York City's housing crisis.
