I left "Corpse Flower Crime Watch" promotional materials in and around the New York Botanical Garden to celebrate the very hyped, once-in-a-decade bloom of ​the corpse flower.

The flyers — along with a slogan of "When you can't trust smell, only eyes can tell" — spread quickly online, prompting the New York Botanical Garden to tweet "Botanical Banksy is real."

Eight years later, to my total surprise, this prank was mentioned in the New York Times "Facts of Interest" section.
